POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Relationship Manager (CRE) is responsible for developing, managing, and expanding a portfolio of commercial and industrial clients. This role focuses on driving loan and deposit growth, delivering tailored financial solutions, and building long-term client relationships. The Senior Relationship Manager serves as a trusted advisor to clients, partnering across internal teams to provide comprehensive banking services while maintaining strong credit quality and risk management practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Relationship Management
Manage and grow a portfolio of C&I clients, serving as the primary point of contact for all banking needs.
Develop a deep understanding of each client’s business, industry dynamics, and financial objectives to provide strategic advisory value.
Build long-term relationships through proactive engagement, regular touchpoints, and consistent delivery on commitments.
Business Development
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the commercial portfolio through prospecting, referrals, and market networking.
Generate new loan, deposit, and treasury management business through disciplined calling activity and relationship cultivation.
Leverage centers of influence including CPAs, attorneys, and private equity sponsors to source new client relationships.
Credit & Underwriting
Structure, negotiate, and present credit opportunities in alignment with bank credit policies and risk appetite.
Partner with credit analysts and underwriting teams to assess risk and prepare comprehensive loan packages.
Monitor portfolio performance on an ongoing basis, including financial trends, covenant compliance, and risk rating accuracy.
Financial Solutions Delivery
Recommend and deliver a full suite of banking products including loans, lines of credit, treasury services, and cash management solutions.
Collaborate with treasury management, wealth management, and other internal specialists to meet complex client needs.
Portfolio Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Maintain high asset quality across the portfolio and ensure compliance with internal credit standards and reporting requirements.
Conduct regular client reviews and proactive risk assessments; address problem credits and develop appropriate action plans.
Partner with internal teams including credit, treasury management, operations, and risk to coordinate a seamless client experience.
Stay current on economic trends, industry developments, and the competitive landscape; share market insights with clients and internal stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Eight to twelve or more years of experience in commercial banking with a specific focus on C&I lending and relationship management.
Proven track record of business development, portfolio growth, and client retention in a competitive commercial banking market.
Strong credit analysis and underwriting expertise, with the ability to structure and present complex commercial transactions.
Established network within the Dallas commercial market preferred.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills; strong executive presence.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field required.
