Job Summary


The Senior Relationship Manager (SRM) – C&I Lending is responsible for originating, managing, and growing a portfolio of Commercial & Industrial (C&I) clients. This role focuses on providing tailored financial solutions to mid-sized and large businesses across various industries, including manufacturing, distribution, logistics, professional services, and technology. The SRM serves as a trusted advisor to business owners and executives, delivering customized lending, treasury, and depository services while ensuring strong credit quality and long-term relationship profitability.


Key Responsibilities


Business Development & Origination

  • Proactively identify and cultivate new C&I lending opportunities through referrals, networking, and market presence

  • Source and close new loans, including working capital lines of credit, equipment financing, owner-occupied real estate, and acquisition financing

  • Maintain a robust pipeline and achieve annual production goals

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of C&I clients, providing strategic financial guidance and personalized service

  • Deepen relationships by cross-selling treasury management, merchant services, deposits, and other banking solutions

  • Conduct regular client reviews and site visits to understand business needs, performance, and future plans

Credit & Risk Management

  • Lead the structuring and negotiation of loan terms that balance client needs with the bank’s risk appetite

  • Work closely with credit partners to underwrite, present, and defend credit proposals to loan committees

  • Monitor portfolio performance, covenant compliance, and credit quality, addressing any emerging risks proactively

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with internal teams including Credit, Treasury Management, SBA, Wealth, and Operations to deliver holistic solutions

  • Mentor junior bankers and credit analysts, sharing best practices and technical expertise

  • Represent the bank in industry and community events to enhance visibility and market reputation

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or formal credit training preferred

  • Experience: 7–12 years of commercial banking experience with a focus on C&I lending, including a strong track record of loan origination and relationship management

  • Skills:
    Advanced knowledge of credit underwriting, financial analysis, and risk management
    Excellent sales, negotiation, and client service skills
    Strong knowledge of commercial loan structures, legal documentation, and regulatory guidelines
    Proficiency with financial software and CRM tools
    High emotional intelligence and executive presence
