Job Title: Credit Analyst (Commercial Banking)


Location: Boise, ID


Position Summary


The Credit Analyst is responsible for supporting the Commercial Banking team by analyzing financial information, assessing credit risk, and preparing detailed credit packages for loan approval. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the quality of the bank’s commercial loan portfolio by providing accurate, timely, and insightful financial analysis.


The Credit Analyst partners closely with Relationship Managers and Underwriters to evaluate Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and Commercial Real Estate (CRE) lending opportunities, while contributing to sound credit decisions and overall portfolio performance.


Key Responsibilities


Financial Analysis

  • Analyze borrower financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements

  • Assess global cash flow, liquidity, leverage, and profitability

  • Identify trends, risks, and key drivers of financial performance

Credit Underwriting Support

  • Prepare credit memoranda and loan presentations for new and existing credit requests

  • Evaluate loan structure, collateral, and guarantor support

  • Assist in determining appropriate risk ratings and credit recommendations

Commercial Banking Support

  • Support underwriting for a variety of commercial loans, including:Commercial & Industrial (C&I) lending
    Commercial Real Estate (CRE), including income-producing and construction projects
    Owner-occupied real estate and small business lending

  • Contribute to deal structuring and credit evaluation processes

Portfolio Monitoring

  • Assist in monitoring existing loan relationships, including covenant compliance and financial performance

  • Track borrower reporting requirements and update internal systems

  • Identify potential credit issues and escalate as needed

Collaboration & Deal Execution

  • Partner with Relationship Managers to gather financial and operational information from clients

  • Work with underwriting, credit administration, and loan operations teams to facilitate loan closings

  • Support an efficient credit approval and documentation process

Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to the bank’s credit policies and regulatory requirements

  • Maintain accurate and well-documented credit files

  • Support internal audits and loan review processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field

  • 1–3 years of experience in banking, credit analysis, or financial analysis (internships applicable)

  • Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles

  • Experience or exposure to Commercial Banking and credit underwriting

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in financial analysis and Excel

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • High attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
