Job Summary


The Commercial Loan Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the commercial lending process by coordinating loan documentation, managing closing workflows, and ensuring accurate and timely processing of commercial loan transactions. This position acts as a liaison between Relationship Managers, credit analysts, loan operations, attorneys, and clients to ensure smooth and compliant loan closings and ongoing loan administration.


Key Responsibilities


Loan Processing & Documentation

  • Coordinate the collection and verification of all documentation required for commercial loan closings, including term sheets, commitment letters, financials, and insurance.

  • Work with Relationship Managers and attorneys to ensure accurate and timely preparation of loan documents in accordance with credit approval.

  • Review executed loan packages for completeness and compliance with bank policy and regulatory requirements.

Loan Closing Support

  • Schedule and manage loan closings, ensuring all pre-closing conditions are satisfied.

  • Facilitate communication among internal stakeholders and external parties (e.g., title companies, legal counsel, appraisers).

  • Prepare funding memos and support accurate disbursement of loan proceeds.

Post-Closing Administration

  • Ensure loans are properly booked into the bank’s core system with accurate terms and documentation.

  • Scan and index final loan documents for archival in the bank’s document management system.

  • Track receipt of trailing documents such as recorded collateral documents, final title policies, and insurance certificates.

Client & Relationship Support

  • Provide administrative support to Relationship Managers and clients throughout the lending process.

  • Respond to client inquiries related to loan status, documentation, payments, and servicing needs.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of commercial lending regulations, documentation requirements, and internal policies.

  • Monitor workflows for exceptions and deficiencies; escalate issues to appropriate personnel.

  • Assist in audits, exams, and quality control reviews.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred.

  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in commercial loan operations, documentation, or loan servicing within a banking environment.

  • Skills:
    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
    Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and loan processing systems
    Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
    Familiarity with commercial loan products, structures, and collateral types
