Job Title: Commercial Banking Division Manager

Job Summary


The Commercial Banking Division Manager is responsible for leading and managing the strategic, operational, and financial performance of a defined commercial banking division, which may include multiple teams or geographic markets. This executive-level role oversees a team of Relationship Managers, Team Leaders, and support staff, ensuring consistent delivery of credit and treasury solutions to middle-market and business banking clients. The Division Manager sets growth objectives, ensures strong credit quality, and fosters a high-performing, client-centric culture aligned with the bank’s mission and goals.


Key Responsibilities


Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and execute the division’s strategic business plan in alignment with corporate objectives

  • Lead multiple commercial banking teams, ensuring achievement of loan, deposit, and fee income goals

  • Represent the division in executive-level planning, forecasting, and business development initiatives

Team Development & Management

  • Recruit, mentor, and retain top commercial banking talent including Team Leaders, Senior Relationship Managers, and Analysts

  • Establish performance goals, conduct evaluations, and ensure a strong culture of accountability, integrity, and collaboration

  • Promote a coaching environment that supports employee development and career progression

Client & Market Leadership

  • Maintain oversight of key client relationships while supporting bankers in expanding new and existing relationships

  • Actively engage in community and business development efforts to build market visibility and brand strength

  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through consistent service delivery and responsiveness

Credit Quality & Risk Oversight

  • Ensure sound underwriting practices, portfolio monitoring, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements

  • Participate in credit committees and approve or recommend credit actions in accordance with delegated authority

  • Monitor portfolio metrics and proactively address emerging risks across the division

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Treasury Management, Private Banking, SBA, Wealth Management, and Operations to deliver integrated solutions to clients

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Compliance, and Product teams to support business initiatives and client engagement strategies

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. MBA or graduate banking degree preferred

  • Experience: 12+ years of commercial banking experience with progressive leadership roles; proven success managing multiple teams or markets

  • Skills:
