About the Role

A Director of Middle Market C&I Lending is responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of middle-market commercial clients, providing tailored financial solutions to support their growth and operational needs. This role involves business development, credit risk assessment, and strategic relationship management with clients across industries such as manufacturing, distribution, professional services, and technology.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development & Client Acquisition

    • Identify and acquire middle-market clients ($10M–$500M in revenue) across diverse industries.

    • Develop strong relationships with business owners, CFOs, and financial decision-makers.

    • Cross-sell the bank’s full suite of products, including treasury management, capital markets, and commercial lending solutions.

  • Lending & Credit Risk Management

    • Structure and underwrite complex credit facilities, including working capital lines, term loans, asset-based lending, and equipment financing.

    • Work closely with credit analysts and risk teams to assess borrower financials, industry risks, and collateral structures.

    • Maintain portfolio quality by proactively managing credit risk and monitoring market conditions.

  • Strategic Market Positioning

    • Stay informed on industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory developments affecting middle-market lending.

    • Represent the bank at industry conferences, networking events, and professional associations.

    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance product offerings and client solutions.

  • Team Leadership & Development

    • Mentor and develop junior relationship managers and analysts.

    • Drive a high-performance sales culture within the middle-market lending team.

    • Partner with senior executives to shape regional lending strategy and growth initiatives.
